Duke Composers at Merkin Hall, NYC

The Ciompi Quartet has a long and fruitful relationship with Duke’s faculty in composition, and with the students in its Ph.D. program. The quartet has commissioned and premiered many works over the years. This concert brings together three of these, highlighting the unique voices of Stephen Jaffe, Scott Lindroth and Anthony Kelley. It is a joyous, startling, and powerful program that reveals the deep talent and imagination of Duke’s composition program, mentors of the next generation!
This performance also acts as the release party for Ciompi’s latest album: “A Duke Moment”. This builds on their desire to highlight the contribution of the Duke’s compositional voices, sharing them with the world outside of Duke.
