Cedar Rapids IA: Cultural Crossroads

Coe College, Marquis Series Concert, Sinclair Auditorium
Presented in partnership with the National Czech and Slovak Museum. Additional events including lectures and curated events from both Coe College and the National Czech and Slovak Museum will be announced at a later date.
The program explores the Black and Indigenous influences that shaped Antonín Dvořák’s work during his time in America—including his residency in nearby Spillville, Iowa.By weaving together Native American melodies, African American spirituals, and Dvořák’s most beloved chamber music, this event transcends a standard recital. Featuring a diverse cast of stellar musicians, synchronized video, and evocative imagery, Cultural Crossroads is designed to educate, entertain, and inspire modern audiences through the lens of a century-old musical curiosity.
