    The Franklin Pond Chamber Music Competition is annual event open to middle and high school ensembles throughout the state of Georgia. Winners receive cash prizes as well the opportunity to perform before a live audience at the Awards Concert. The Ciompi Quartet will judge the competition and perform with the winners on May 28.

  • Ciompi Presents: Contrasts

    The first concert of the Ciompi Quartet Presents 2023 Summer Chamber Music Series features Jonathan Bagg with guest artists Benjamin Fingland (clarinet), Maiani da Silva (violin), Emely Phelps (piano) and Laura Gilbert (flute). The title for his presentation is drawn from a Bartók work that was written for Benny Goodman in 1938. The program features a unique musical combination with unusual instrumentation.

    The second concert features violinist Eric Pritchard with guest artists Anton Miller (violin), Heather Bentley (viola), Elizabeth Anderson (cello) and Brandt Fredriksen (piano). The program includes two premiere performances of recently composed piano quintets inspired by visionary creatives and finishes with Handel’s well-known Passacaglia and Pärt’s beloved Spiegel im Spiegel.
