The Ciompi Quartet

The second concert of the Ciompi Presents 2022 Summer Chamber Music Series will feature Jonathan Bagg, violist with the Ciompi String Quartet, performing with Laura Gilbert (flute), Nicholas DiEugenio (violin), Raman Ramakrishnan (cello) and Mimi Solomon (piano). Program: Brahms' Piano Quartet Op. 60, a new flute quartet by Duke faculty composer Scott Lindroth, and works by David Kirkland Garner and Tatiana Nikolaeva.

Presented by Caroline Stinson with Nurit Pacht (violin), Emi Ferguson (flute), Stephanie Vial (cello) and Paolo Bordignon, (harpsichord). Program: Sonatas by Bach, Couperin and Veracini, and Telemann “Paris” Quartet.

The final concert of the Ciompi Quartet Presents 2022 Summer Chamber Music Series features violinist Eric Pritchard performing with Elizabeth Anderson (cello) and Brandt Fredriksen (piano). The program includes trios of Shostakovich, Bill Robinson, and Dvořák's "Dumky."

The Franklin Pond Chamber Music Competition is annual event open to middle and high school ensembles throughout the state of Georgia. Winners receive cash prizes as well the opportunity to perform before a live audience at the Awards Concert. The Ciompi Quartet will judge the competition and perform with the winners on May 28.

The title for his presentation is drawn from a Bartók work that was written for Benny Goodman in 1938. The program features a unique musical combination with unusual instrumentation.
