Quartets of Brahms and Lindroth

Duke Gardens, Kirby Horton Hall, Doris Duke CenterThe second concert of the Ciompi Presents 2022 Summer Chamber Music Series will feature Jonathan Bagg, violist with the Ciompi String Quartet, performing with Laura Gilbert (flute), Nicholas DiEugenio (violin), Raman Ramakrishnan (cello) and Mimi Solomon (piano). Program: Brahms' Piano Quartet Op. 60, a new flute quartet by Duke faculty composer Scott Lindroth, and works by David Kirkland Garner and Tatiana Nikolaeva.

Duke Gardens, Kirby Horton Hall, Doris Duke CenterThe first concert of the Ciompi Quartet Presents 2023 Summer Chamber Music Series features Jonathan Bagg with guest artists Benjamin Fingland (clarinet), Maiani da Silva (violin), Emely Phelps (piano) and Laura Gilbert (flute). The title for his presentation is drawn from a Bartók work that was written for Benny Goodman in 1938. The program features a unique musical combination with unusual instrumentation.
